Conserving our Waikato River

Donating to Waikato RiverCare’s Te Onetea Stream Extension Project

Respecting the Waikato and Bay of Plenty land that our Rural Network spans across is important to us. We believe it’s our duty to support land conservation initiatives.

This August, Lightwire has donated $1,000 to Waikato RiverCare’s Te Onetea Stream Extension Project. This is a great initiative to restore our river with self-sustaining native plants.

We align with Waikato RiverCare’s vision to make a positive difference to the well-being of our Awa. The river is the lifeline of our Waikato community, providing drinking and irrigation water, and powering our homes and businesses. Donating to the Te Onetea Stream Extension Project is something small we can do to help.

We’re proud to be actively involved in our community by donating to schools, sports teams and conservation projects. If you know a cause Lightwire can contribute to, please contact our Hamilton-based support team on 0800 12 13 14 and let us know what we can do to help.

This year, with our support, 600 seedlings were planted, adding to a growing legacy of sustainability.
