Plan upgrades take immediate effect, meaning you will avoid any further additional data charges from your previous plan. Downgrades will take effect from the 1st day of the following month.

Lightwire Pricing - Unlimited off-peak data on all plans

Unlimited off-peak data

Our plans include an on-peak data allowance, and unlimited data during off-peak times. On-peak runs from 8 AM to midnight and off-peak runs from midnight to 8 AM.


Downloads and uploads contribute to your data consumption, so it is a good idea to schedule backups to run after midnight, and the same goes for large software updates. Downloading of large files for future use should, where possible, also be scheduled for after midnight.

We recently moved to the Western BOP, and needed high speed reliable connectivity to be able to work effectively from home (Zoom, Teams meetings etc). When our existing DSL service was failing, through a neighbours referral we got onto Lightwire, called and had everything underway within a week.

Awesome Provider been with these guys before. Although only 1 week into it, so far so good. Safe to say the speeds are faster than what we were on which was 4G. Almost Fibre speeds, and even under peak times, the speed still maintains at a good rate.

A rough average of what we get is around 40mbps, with max up to 75mbps and a min of 20mbps. See attached photo for reference. Good pings as well, so if you're a regular gamer like me, then you shouldn't have any trouble. Same with latency as well, which is also good. I noticed a drop in ping since shifting from 4G. Which was a plus, and obviously lets not forget that you have more data to play with compared to the capped and limited GB from 4G. But yea Overall, everything is up to the mark! touch wood. haha

Frequently Asked Questions

In designing our plans, we have tried to find a balance between ensuring our costs are covered and keeping your costs as low as possible.


When it comes to installation, we need to install a dish on your roof that will point at a tower on a nearby hill and install a WiFi router. All of this is done by a Lightwire engineer.


If you sign a 12-month term, we do all of this for free.


On a 6 month term, we pass on $650 of the install cost as a one-off charge.

When you sign up to a plan but the installation is not successful due to no line of sight existing between your house and one of our towers (or some other issue that makes service impossible to provide), no early termination fees or charges of any kind will apply.


On average, our customers stay with us for more than 4.5 years, but if you are wanting to leave Lightwire for whatever reason, your connection will be disconnected on the last day of the month in which your request is received.


If your service is still in term when you cancel it, an early termination fee (ETC) will apply. ETC calculations are as follows:


  • Monthly fixed charge multiplied by full months left in term, with a maximum charge of $790 incl.

Lightwire gives you unparalleled flexibility. Regardless of which plan you sign up to, you can upgrade or downgrade that plan at any time without penalty. This is done via your customer portal.


Upgrades take effect immediately, and plan downgrades take effect at the start of the following month.
